“Saxy” Rob Thompson is a renown saxophonist and entertainer – working both as a solo artist and with some of the biggest names in the music industry. 


“Saxy” Rob Thompson, not only a professional showman with a sax, he is a long time entrepreneur, a composer, teacher, a community volunteer, motivational speaker and most importantly a full time dad. Born and raised in the Football Hall of Fame city of Canton Ohio. Inspired by a family of musicians, Saxy Rob has developed a distinct love for all genres of music and the ability to translate that by way of saxophone.


He has performed, either live or in the studio with big name musicians, such as former Eagles drummer Joe Vitale Sr., Larry Mud Morganfield or “Muddy Waters Jr”, “Funky” Leroy Harper Jr formerly from the James Brown Band, outstanding percussionist Elec Simon of “Stomp”, the broadway production, as well as many other very talented musicians over the course of his professional career. He has performed his solo show in many prestigious venues around the world, from Carnegie Music Hall, to the House of Blues, as well as the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, to the strip of Las Vegas. Having the unique ability to pick up and play with anyone within a moments notice has catapulted him into the limelight. He has been featured in several news publications, including local media giants Canton Repository, and Akron Beacon Journal. “Saxy” Rob is more than a saxophonist, he is an exceptional entertainer whose ultimate goal is to have a blast playing music, creating intimate musical moments with a focus on audience interaction, providing a guaranteed entertaining experience!
